October 17: Evil Ed

movie reviews

Ed is a quiet and efficient documentary editor. When the horror department of his employer gets a massive deal from a Swedish distributor, they need his skills in editing all the gory and controversial parts out of their Loose Limbs franchise. Ed can’t stomach horror movies, but is forced to do the work for fear of losing his job. Gradually, Ed becomes desensitized to the violence, then goes insane. He starts seeing monsters around the house and eventually relents to his psychopathic impulses.

This movie is an homage to the 80s horror classics, with tons of references to keep you entertained. To make it fun, the whole movie is a big criticism of Sweden’s long-standing film censorship tradition. It sticks it to the man and splatters then splatters him all over the walls.
